So, has anyone written to a Lord about the CSF Bill?

I want to write but its scaring me! Its one thing to email my MP through Write to Them, she's probably used to hearing from me by now, and I started off small with some template letters about less important things anyway.

I know about the database to find Lords who still need letters, and how to look them up to see what 'hook' might interest them; but have only seen one person's letter - I need some ideas.

there's a letter here

I wrote to some Lords with a connection to my local area. I also wrote to my bishop.

what's the CSF bill, please?

The Children, Schools and Families Bill; with the legislation for registering and monitoring Home Educators and adding in extra bits about suitable education without the need for parliamentary scrutiny. Not, as you can see from the transcript of the debate on it (down the page) that scrutiny does much good when Labour MPs have been told to vote it through no matter what (and no matter how wonderful Graham Stuart was, never thought I'd say that about a conservative MP)

So its going to a third reading and then the House of Lords, so home educators are writing to the Lords to make them aware of the flaws in the DCSF's data etc.

There's a petition here if anyone wants to sign after reading the transcript and being swayed by the great debate that had no effect at all. Really, how is that democracy?
