if that doesn't sound too creepy and stalkerish...

You're weird.

That said, she does make me LOL when I read her.

Callisto · 15/09/2009 08:07

She is great - I had no idea she was home educated though.

duelingfanjo · 15/09/2009 08:10

is Caitlin Moran the same girl who was some kind of writing child star when I was a teenager?

duelingfanjo · 15/09/2009 08:14

have checked and it is. I love her too

mollyroger · 15/09/2009 08:23

Brilliant article.
One of the best I've read in ages (maybe the best).
Very down to earth and right to the point.

MrsBadger · 15/09/2009 09:35

the novel she wrote when she was 16 re being home-edded (The Chronicles of Narmo) is hilarious also, though she is wearing a silly hat in the author photo which meant I was never as jealous of her as I might otherwise have been.

I just came to check if there was a thread! Read the times at the dentist this morning, my dad pointed it out to me and he is a bit less pro HE than me to put it mildly...so I hope he reads it.

julienoshoes · 15/09/2009 14:11

DD2 and I just read this together and laughed out loud!

very glad there is so many more socialising opportunities now though.

Writing about the Review on home education findings:

"In short, it doesn?t seem to understand the very vital concept that a child can receive not a single, formal piece of education for more than a decade and then ? as in the case of my brother Jim ? pack himself off to an adult education college, knock off GCSEs and A-levels in two years flat, and go on to Cambridge. And, because he was entirely self-motivated, all without my parents having to nag him once to do his homework"

Oh yes..........................

If it's creepy and stalkerish then I'm guilty too dammit!!
