Why did you decide to home educate - survey

I'm trying to figure out the reasons most people home educate. For us it has been our DS not settling in a group situation and being much more comfortable at home. But I wondered why most of you guys decided to do it?

I thought this might be interesting and encouraging info for people starting out (like me!!)

The survey is here on my blog on the right hand side of the page.

You can choose more than one reason!
Thanks

Have answered your poll.

You might be interested in reading the research on the Education Otherwise website on this
They had answers from over 500 members, to the question, in 2003

Also Mike Fortune-Wood, home educating da, researcher and publisher asked this amongst other questions, fairly recently.

His results can be seen in his published works
The Face of Home Based Education
Worth a read I think.

I have voted. Will be interested to see how it pans out. Good luck with it

I voted for 'other reasons' as I didn't want our 2 year old to start school until she's fully enthusiastic and ready to leave me (ie to support our attachment parenting)
