Anyone in Surrey feel like complaining about this?

I've just received my daughter's offer of a place in Reception at a Surrey state primary.

The acceptance form that I have to return to the school states: "It is a legal requirement for us (i.e. Surrey LEA) to know that every Surrey child is attending school." Further down, it states: "You must tell us the school you have accepted. If you do not, we have to report it to the Education Welfare Service."

That's just plain wrong. isn't it ? Am not home-edding myself (obviously), but I have a lot of sympathy with those who do and this jumped out at me.

But if you are Home edding you wouldn't have applied for a school place so it is irrelevant surely?

well I know plenty of children that are HE in Surrey so they do let you do it! I guess it means you have to formally deregister.

I complained earlier, as yes, it's wrong and a touch intimidatory. I'm also going to complain about it via their current HE questionnaire as a reason why unkown HEors might not want to have anything to do with them.
