I have 3 homeschooled children. Does anyone who else homeschools meet up around Matlock or chesterfield so socialise them. Thankyou

Have you found your local home ed groups yet?
A good place to start is searching Facebook for "home ed" and the names of large towns or regions in your area. Once you join the page there is often a private WhatsApp or mailing list which you can use to find meet-ups, classes and introduce yourselves to make friends.

By the way if you like camping, there is a home ed camp near Hartington in June and again in August. It's a modest sized, basic sort of cheap make-your-own-fun camp, unlike HEFF and similar big HE camps which have a schedule packed with organised activities. There are caves to explore nearby, and an idyllic swimming hole in the stream suitable for those with ice in their veins. My kids loved it, especially as teenagers.

You don't have to book for it, just turn up and pay the campsite for whichever days you want.

Ask people in your local group about it. It's called Peak Camp and has been running for decades.

I don't have Facebook, I've asked my mum to look, I'm just wanting to socialize my kids as my son and daughter have autism but r at the ages of really wanting friends etc

It's worth joining facebook for home ed stuff as most activities are organised on local facebook groups.

There’s a good forest school meet up for home educators in Swadlincote. May be a bit far for you though?

Socialisation was the biggest thing I worried about, but now it's the least of my worries - if anything, we have TOO many groups! There's so many home education groups, activities, meet ups - you just need to find your local communities (use facebook) and go from there!
