Home Ed / Bristol or Cheltenham

I’m returning to UK after 10yrs living in EU and I’m considering home schooling my two children aged 6 and 9 years. They have been in Montessori school but I can’t find anything suitable nearby and I’d really like to continue so considering home ed for both. Are there many home ed activities around Bristol and/or Cheltenham (does one offer more)? I’m trying to decide between these two locations..

The best place to find this out would be to search on Facebook for Home Education + Bristol/Cheltenham (try a variety of local placenames). Then you can find the local groups and see how active they are.

I'd imagine Bristol has more going on than Cheltenham as it's much bigger, but Bristol also has more of a tendency towards 'woo' so depends what kind of community you're looking for!
Definitely join the local facebook groups.

I live in Tewkesbury so right next to Cheltenham and we have a huge home ed community over here.

There's a really long list of activities right throughout Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Stroud every week for home-educated children.

I think there was a Montessori school in Gloucester but I'm not sure if it's still there.

Bristol will give you more of a city vibe, whereas Cheltenham has plenty going on but more of a Cotswolds/gentry type feel.

You can find the list of groups for both areas on the hefa fb page
