Hi there,
My sister has recently decided to home educate her child, aged 8, but has very little confidence in this area. She found school very tricky herself and left with little qualifications as soon as she could. I am an experienced, but fed up, primary school teacher and gave her lots of support with this - planning ideas for her to follow using the National Curriculum requirements as she wanted her daughter to follow the school expectations but in a home setting which offered support and flexibility. So far, it has worked well.
Basically I am wondering if anyone else who home schools would want this sort of support and whether there is the scope to build a business out of it?
I know that many home schoolers choose to unschool, and I can understand why, but was interested if anyone out there would pay for an ex-teacher's support to plan activities / a curriculum that suits the child? Honest feedback would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
