Has anyone HE across two different cultures?

My dc are bilingual and have spent half of the last school year abroad to catch up on their minority language. They both loved it and for dd1 in particular the style of teaching worked much better. Unfortunately it wasn't possible for us to relocate permanently, not is it possible to split each school year in half. I'm now thinking yet again about HE because the long school day in the Uk means there is little time in the day/week to pursue a different curriculum set in a different language and culture.

Has anyone done this type of cross cultural HE successfully?

We're in the process of doing this. My DH lives and works in the Middle East, myself and the children are currently based in the UK. We've visited him and we will be going to live there from September-end June each year for the forseeable future, with a trip back to the UK round about Easter time each year. We've home educated for a few years, and we couldn't do this easily if they were at school. We just carry on with home ed wherever we are! We've travelled a fair bit to Turkey, Spain and Orkney over the past few years. Home ed makes our lifestyle very flexible and we have loads of freedom!

Hi, our DD is at Interhigh. There are children from all over the world in her class, lessons take about 3 hours each day

I'd never even heard of Interhigh. Mine are primary age but I'll keep this in mind for years to come.

There is Briteschool I believe for primary age

Sounds a bit more restrictive than I'd like. I was thinking more of proper HE, not internet lessons at certain times. I'd try to mix and match two languages and cultures and maybe do cross cultural topic work. Guess I need to do more thinking on this.

Your plan is perfectly workable, SocietyClowns! People were just suggesting what had been good for them, not saying you have to do it the same way!

They say there are as many ways of home educating as there are families and I think that is true. I'm sure you can make it work.
