East Midlnds/Derbyshire Home Ed Groups?

Hi,

My DC's are currently in mainstream state school in a deprived area. Ages 8 and 5. Thinking about home schooling, but wondering how I could find local support groups. I have searched on FB etc but not entirely sure what I am looking for.

Does anyone have any advice about what I should be thinking about in order to proceed with this. I am a SAHM so would be doing the bulk of the work, looking to "top up" with specialist subjects. The biggest put off for me at the moment is ensuring that they have regular social contact with their peers.

I just found HEAD ON (home education activities in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire) as a group on facebook. Can't link because on phone. They'll see you right:)

There's also a yahoo group EMHE which is quite active, and there will be a smaller group on Facebook for your nearest large town.
