Hi all,

I thought this would be the best place to find out about tried and tested resources used by parents at home. We are in Africa and the Internet is painfully slow, so lots of online things are not really practical.

I have worked as a teacher in International schools and as a TA in the UK, so you'd think I would know what to do! However:

I find myself abroad with my Year 3 DD and Reception age DD2.

In schools we always have lots of different resources and planning at our finger tips, but I would really like a programme, that comes as a package, that will take me through all the foundation maths and maths needed for Year 3.

It would just be great to have a book that my daughter can just work through with some teaching input from me.

I am more comfortable teaching literacy and will probably get the Jolly phonics pack for the younger one.

However if you have any tips for resources for comprehension for Year 3 I'd be most grateful.

Thanks!

A good friend who employs a teacher to home schools her 5 kids highly recommends Calvert Curriculum homeschool.calverteducation.com/. She purchases the curriculum and resources and has them delivered to her door; says it's challenging too! As a teacher, you may get on with it too :)
