What made you decide to home ed?

Hello OP

There are many different reasons people choose to H.ed, you only need to read back through some of the threads on here to see this but our reasons were:

Our dd was missing lots of time from school, all of it authorised as educated off site.
In the end she was hardly there and I'm sure it wouldn't be tolerated now.
She wanted time to pursue her ambition and work towards goals she has set herself and H.ed has allowed the freedom to do this.
Now she has the time to fit everything in, doesn't have to worry about completing homework, not shattered in the morning after a late night and can have a lie inhen she needs one. Although she still gets cols after a run of late nights her general health has improved as she can rest when she needs to.

Ds had struggled at school for years with lots issues. Tried secondary school and he was so stressed he was turning delinquent. This finally persuaded hubby to allow me to HE .

Ds changed charecter ovrnight and is now lovely.

Do many people decide to home ed from the start as a preference or is it normally the case that 'ordinary' schooling hasn't worked for whatever reason?
