First let me give you some context so you can share my excitement properly.
I have always had my heart set on home educating and although the starting school deadline has yet to reach us I have been feeling that in my current circumstances it just won't be possible (single mother living in a wee village with 0 home ed kids)
Due to that and the associate crap that's going on right now I've started to feel like I wouldnt up to the job any way and generally quite pessimistic.

Today dd 20mo started counting to 4 Smile

Apropos of nothing she's picking up the ducks in the bath and going "one, two, three, four"

I got very excited and we repeated it and million time giggling and splashing.

Then I said 5 and she said 6
And then I said 7 and she said 8.

Proud as punch Smile

I truly believe children learn the most when they are happy :)

Aside from just being a wonder full the hear it totally backs up my/the theory that you don't have to ram education down their throats.

I haven't actively been teaching her numbers. I'm not entirely sure where she picked it up from, my best guess is walking up and down stairs I always count but we live in a bungalow so it doesn't happen that often.
