I have been wittering elsewhere on MN about stuff I do know a bit about.
I know literally nothing about pintinterest.

Please educate me :)

I have a HE board on there (I think!). If you do a search for HE then you should find loads of useful ideas. You'll be able to find boards to follow and then any new pins on there will appear on your homepage and you can repin anything you like the look of to your own board. I'll PM you my username on there if you like to help get you started.

ooh yes please!

I dislike facebook intensely so I guess I have this fear that pintinterest is the same. - do people use their real name or a nickname.

Posting on facebook makes me feel like Im standing in the street with no clothes on :o

You can do whatever you like, you don't have to give away any personal details at all. I'll PM you my username and if you want I can email you an invitation if you haven't already signed up.

BerryLellow · 19/08/2012 20:11

Pinterest is open registration now, you don't need invites anymore!

You can use it as yourself or have a nickname, much like here. Use the search box to help you find things for your specific interests, but remember to search people, pins, and boards separately for the best results, and then follow boards/ people if they frequently pin things that you like/ find useful. I think a lot of the teachers classroom pins might be good for you - a lot of the US ones have amazing ideas for organisation, activities and storage etc.

I LOVE pinterest! (can you tell?!)

EauRouge · 19/08/2012 20:18

Oh is it? I signed up before the invitation thing so I don't know how it works now. I'm not as enthusiastic as I would be if I actually had the free time to do all the crafty stuff I've been pinning Grin

another pinterest fan here.

I have always loved scrapbooking in past.

its like an online scrap book.

I use safari as my browser with pinterest as downloaded the pin it button to my tool bar.

I started off just random boards

can set up as many subject boards as you like

examples

home
party ideas
adult fashion
kids fashion
kids stuff-as they have so much.
education -where pinned lots playrooms/homeschool rooms mostly american but also when searched home schooling loads come up.
fave places-holiday ideas

might do an xmas one as be like virtual shopping list as references retailer its from. best of all you have option to write something next to pic. if you put £ and price it then adds price to the picture.

science experiments.

when you pin a picture it adds to wall and references the source underneath mostly to blogs or websites which tell me how to

make moon sand
recipie for that lush cake
how to make play dough or homemade paint.
lapbooking-omg loads of lovley pics made the concept much clearer to me.

this way I have discovered loads of new blogs.

my freind who has similar tastes tags kids clothes which i then like.

its not really like fb as its open not private.
anyone can see.

I am following strangers from usa
usa people following me

people also if they like you pin can make a comment or repin onto their boards by just clicking repin in corner.

the pinterest has a homepage of all the recent pins in chronologiocal order.

it must have taken me 45mins to set up.

but onec up and running quick and easy.

you can pin anything off fb but can off twitter, websites and blogs.

some blogs have pin it button.

I find facebook to intrusive and showy like every ones either trying to portray the perfect staged life or dram queens living their entire lives by fb

ps the organised home pics seriously love as im messy and disorganised and wish I wasent. I heart organising a scary but lovley thread.

I have fund the education bits really useful as basically its just bookmarking stuff on a board to read later when have time!

BerryLellow · 19/08/2012 21:37

Yeah I signed up ages ago too - but Pinterest sent out an email last week saying that they were open to all now, and to recommened them to everyone :)

I'm not so much for the crafty stuff but god if my wardrobe were as full as my Pinterest one I'd be very happy! :o

My mother, on the other hand, seems to have done about a hundred Pinterest craft projects already.

mam29 · 19/08/2012 21:51

Its given me far too many ideas.

not enough time or money

home/baking envy!

its part fantasy I guess

places that would love to go
unsual random stuff like midget houses.
