Hi, I'm new to Mumsnet and HE (though I'm a qualified teacher so I suppose that helps to some degree with the latter). I have been HE my 6 year old son for around 6 weeks. I'm keen to meet up with other HE parents for days out etc. Would be great to hear from anyone as I am finding it really hard to actually find any local groups. Many thanks

We do a lot of stuff in Milton Keynes. It's not super near to you, but its not too far away for one off trips/events?

Gracie123 thank you for your post. I think it is a bit too far, but it's kind of you to get in touch.

Hi,

Don't worry - there are loads of families near you. Join the HertShe and SouthBucksHomeEd yahoo groups. Swimming lessons on Wednesday mornings and gym on Tuesdays at HH sportspace for a start. I've stopped HEing now, but found that there where plenty of meet ups between Wendover and Watford on the A41.

All the best!

Hi there, I'm also a teacher and dd (3yrs) just starting out HE. We live in Beds and have joined a friendly HE group (spread of ages) which meets mainly near Dunstable.Found them on the Education Otherwise website. I'm meeting more and more teachers doing HE! Best of luck.
