Groups in Cannock/lichfield/Stafford area

Hi there,
From January I shall be home educating my 7 year old DS2. He is currently at a small independent school ( hence starting in January, due to giving a terms notice) with DD1 and DS1, they will remain at school. DS2 and DD2, who is 2 years old will be HE.
As I start to plan things to do etc I thought it may be useful to find some groups of other HE families. I have googled groups in the Stafford, Lichfield, Cannock areas of staffordshire but have found none. I just wondered if anyone on here HEs in this area and could recommend one?

There used to be a group in Stafford and one in Wolverhampton although Im going back 2 years - but bump for someone else to come along and give you the details.

Have you got the education otherwise book - Im sure the Stafford one was in there

Thank you, I'll try and find More info about the Stafford one. No I don't have the education otherwise book. I am planning to pay the membership for education otherwise as I have heard it is a very good site. Thank you for your help :)

hi sarahlou02 i am in cannock thinking about home'eding my two (eldest is only 3) and weve just started going to a home ed group in stafford , it seems like the closeest one , if you search heseo on facebook you should find them :)

Ooh hello! I went to a heseo meeting and they were lovely. My DS is at school at the mo but I think we will HE in the future.

Good luck! Its a brave but exciting decision.

hi theres a group that meets on a Tuesday in Walsall Wood. It's brilliant and very active and loads of trips are organised from people who go there. It has a theme every week with science, art and craft based activities, but it is very unstructured and the children can pick and choose what they want to do.Its a great group and the people are really friendly. If you join the HELM yahoo group you will get info on it there. Otherwise email me at natdotlawrenceatntlworlddotcom and I'll give you details of it. A few people from Lichfield, Burntwood, Cannock way go to it as well as some from further afield
