I am happy, and I admit rather nervous, to say that we have decided to deregister DS3 and DS4. I have typed up the letter to the school and will hand-deliver it today.

GULP!

Today has been our first day of home edding - it has been great !! so scared to take the decision but so glad we did :)

throckenholt · 18/01/2011 13:20

good luck. We are nearly 10 months in and don't regret it at all.

Take it slow at first - don't feel you have to be "learning" all day every day. Give yourselves time to see what works for you all.

Enjoy.

Good luck. It's coming up to 3 years of home education for us. I was so scared too.

10 years on here. We have no regrets, not one, other than to wish we had never sent them in the first place.

Well done you and welcome to the wonderful world of home ed!

Congratulations doggytreats, and to you too mummybiz!! Happy home educating.

You know what - not all children who come out of school stay out of school "forever", but I have hardly ever met or even heard of anyone who, years down the line, regretted the decision to take their children out of school in the first place.

The probabilities are all in favour of this turning out to be one of the best decisions you've ever made!

Thanks for the supporty everyone - I think what started as one of the worst weeks ever with a a terrible meeting in which the laughable " there is no bullying inthis school" was repeated ad finitum - could turn out to be on eof the best!!
