Home Ed A-Levels - rebuffed by yahoo group, snivel

The Yahoo! group for people doing GCSEs and A-Levels rebuffed my pitiful membership application Sad so I wondered if any brilliant goddesses of Mumsnet could suggest other forums? We have done some working-it-out for ourselves, but I know how much collective intelligence there is out there.

Maybe people here can help us decide? At the moment we are a bit torn between totally home ed for ds, with tutors, or the FE college. DS is very academic and looking to Oxbridge, for physics or maths or just possibly classics. All help gratefully received.

If it it the group I think you are talking about...they let me in so obviously don't have impossibly high standards LOL (have ten year old, live in Italy, not what most people think of as your classic applicant to join). So i think maybe you should write to the group owner and ask what the issue is, or reapply with perhaps a slightly more detailed "why i wish to join". It might have been a case of wrong button being clicked, lost count of the number of posts on my blog that I have deleted rather than published by accident.

It is a very informative list and well worth joining, so I'd have another stab at getting membership before giving up.

why on earth would they do that. I am on it. do you mean the yahoo exams gcse alternatives one?

sieglinde · 22/12/2010 14:13

Yep, Massive and sarahitaly, that's the one.

I can't reapply, because yahoo groups say that rejection is final, so there's no mechanism that will let me contact them again. Would one of you very kind people be willing to message me the moderator's or group owner's email address? I'd be really grateful.

Huge thanks...

no prob, just sent an email to the list owner with the link to the thread so they can get in touch.

sieglinde · 23/12/2010 10:46

Huge thanks, both of you. If I don't hear in the New Year is it ok if I send you a Mumsnet message?
