...just that, really

Monday- meh

Tuesday- slightly better than expected

Wednesday- missed two trains to a meet up- thought would be lovely to get dds to make Christmas decs at home. Although very enthusiastic at first, they v quickly lost patience/interest. DDa decides "tree would look better with proper shop decorations on instead"

Thursday- think of really fab idea combining dds' love for Abba, my love for mumsnet into fascinating project around gathering data. They get instantly and spectacularly overcome with boredom

Friday- visit Natural History Museum to see something new. End up in fucking dinosaurs again Grin and getting 5- count 'em- 5- buses home. DDa leaves expensive bag containing expensive riding glove somewhere between South Ken and here.

oh, and we are a bit skint

oh, and I haven't had a chance to do any Christmas shopping, as dp has had/is having Busy Time at work (alternating with Piss Ups at work)

ooh thanks. That's better

..oh. I did make a pomander, though, so it wasn't all a waste of time Grin

Yes, pretty crappy this week.

Workwise not too bad. Had 'A Chat' with ds over the weekend about how I've come to the end of my capabilities with HE and if things didn't improve miraculously soon I'd have to look into statutory assessment and find him a special school to go to, which neither of us wants Sad. It wasn't a threat but I think it's inspired a bit more effort that wasn't there before, so he's cooperating better. Who can blame him after what he suffered in schools before.

Still can't find an English tutor with SEN experience and there are huge gaps in ds's abilities that I can't manage by myself. We need professional guidance here, urgently.

Can't access any autism support in this area because all such services are funded by government direct to schools and ds doesn't go to school so he's not eligible.

Autism Outreach did grant us a one-off appointment which was due to happen yesterday but I had to cancel when I got news that my sister's surgery on Thursday revealed that she does indeed have cancer and it's quite widespread Sad. Recovering from surgery now and will start chemotherapy in January.

My ME/CFS has been worse lately - haven't been sleeping much with worrying about all the above. Need to get my act together sharpish.

Is it Christmas? Really? I hadn't noticed Wink.

On a positive note, last night I drove my car for the first time in two weeks because the snow had melted just enough for me to get to it. Hurrah! I'm mobile again!

Chipolata- sent you a message.Happy to talk to you if you think I can be of any use with advice etc.

Laughing at springheeledjack. We had a week like that, It included getting stuck in the middle of a student protest, and mistaking it for particularly bad Christmas shopping traffic, At least we accomplished one thing. Guess what - we made a pomander!
