Need to buy a bed before I know what I'm doing with the rest of the room

Has anyone been in this situation? I have no furniture and am moving in next week. I won't be in a position to meaningfully decorate the bedroom for a few months, and don't fully know what's going to happen with the space yet in terms of inbuilt furniture etc., so am stuck on choosing a bed for fear of ending up with something that doesn't work for the look I end up going for.

I'm thinking of going for something plain white, no or minimal headboard so it could potentially be painted and I won't end up with a headboard that might be too tall, etc. I keep going around in circles looking at boring beds then getting sidetracked by beautiful bed designs that would look perfect in the right space.

I'm paralysed with indecision but I need somewhere to sleep and need to do something, any advice welcome!

Choose something you like and then it’s the main feature of the room.

perhaps you are better with a Facebook market place, local selling group, cheap/free base for now with a new mattress then you can “design” later

Why dont you just get a mattress ans put it on the floor till you decide what the decor will be?

Get a base with a headboard you can replace or reupholster should you wish to.

That’s what we did. Worked really well.
