Attractive toy storage ideas for a child’s bedroom with oak furniture

Toy storage.

We shall soon be decorating our little man's bedroom but we're keeping his furniture (oak). Whilst we have quite a few pieces, we definitely don't have enough room for all of his toys to go away (especially not in any ordered sort of fashion).

Does anyone have any recommendations for attractive toy storage?

The room is very big so space for the toy storage isn't an issue. I just don't want it looking crap. And he will want something that allows him to sort his toys into an organised system!!!

Pigeon holes/shelving with fabric or wicker baskets as inserts. Easy to pack toys away orderly.

Lowish large bench drawers that kid can sit on.

Large flat tubs under bed for lego and shoes.

Teach child to pack up toys before getting more out.

Donate toys to Op. Shop each year, 10 weeks before Christmas.

Oak effect kallax unit from IKEA.

They are very flexible in use and will grow with your child.

Most of the pigeon holes and shelving with baskets I'd seen are white so won't go with his furniture.

We already have a toy box / bench seat.

The bed is an ottoman and we use it for spare bedding, along with clothes that are currently too big for him. We did have trays under the settees in the lounge but they got too full - part of what's prompted the sort!

He already tidies up between activities and often doesn't need asking / telling. He knows the rules!

We're not ready to get rid of anything, yet. This is DC1 and we might go for DC2. My intention is to have an enormous sale in the driveway, one day, when we're completely past a certain point!
