Laura James garden furniture delayed

We recently bought furniture from Laura James - garden furniture, so not light items. Apparently DHL collected the items on 26th March and they've just been sat in DHL's warehouse ever since. Nobody is being helpful, DHL say speak to Laura James, Laura James on the phone can't help beyond sharing a complaints number.

Has anyone ordered with them before and had any luck?! Almost £2k spent on new garden furniture we were hoping to have before the long weekend and we're still furniture-less almost two weeks later.

Obviously in hindsight we've had a closer look at reviews and it appears to be a very common issue. Is it worth asking for a complete refund and trying somewhere else!? WWYD? 😭

Had the exact same issue 3 years ago with a desk - it took nearly 9 months to be delivered in the end by which time I’d had to buy another one to WFH on! I would ask for a refund tbh, the quality was awful too.

Given the other comment above, I would suggest trying to claim via your credit card company, if that is how you paid.

NINE months!? Jesus wept. We definitely can't wait that long. The longer it is the more I worry it'll turn up damaged.

Honestly the accountability is appalling from Laura James. They've emailed to say it was subcontracted from one delivery company to DHL, and that's caused the delay apparently.

No apology from LJ yet, either - just a very "can't be helped" attitude. It's infuriating!!

Oh no, it's so frustrating when you've spent that kind of money! The runaround between DHL and LJ is the worst because you end up stuck in the middle with no actual answers.

With no movement for two weeks, I'd absolutely be pushing for a full refund. For what it's worth, after a similarly stressful experience with another company I ended up ordering through a site called Mint Outdoor and couldn't have had a more different experience, really straightforward, good communication, and the furniture arrived without any drama. Might be worth a look if you do go down the refund route and need to start fresh somewhere. Hope it gets resolved quickly for you! 🤞
