I can't find a recent thread, but has anyone bought a sofa from DFS or furniture village? Has it lasted? Anything good/bad about the purchase or service? Looking at a large, leather, corner sofa.

We bought a sofa from furniture village. Was delivered Christmas 2024. Could do with new cushions already as it’s sagging. Not impressed.

@somanychristmaslights Thanks for replying. That's not good. Is it still under any sort of warranty?

If you buy a sofa with separate cushions (rather than sewn onto the base)then it’s cheap andeasy to replace the foam and you can put a board under the cushions to make it firmer

We have always had DFS, never had an issue with them. Each leather sofa has lasted years and been replaced due to wanting a new look rather than wearing out.

I have a velvet Joules sofa and cuddle chair from DFS and it’s just as good as day 1, 5 years later. We paid extra for the padding in the cushions, well worth it as our main lounge sofa didn’t have this (Arighi Bianchi sofa) and the cushions do compress easily, DFS ones (albeit not in our main living area) are used daily and feel very plump and springy still, we never need to plump these

the cushions aren’t. Yes you expect they lose their firmness but now it’s uncomfortable. I think I’ve learnt you get what you pay for!!

We ordered a two-seater and two armchairs . a few years ago now. maybe 4 years. There was a problem but for the life of me I've forgotten it now..Maybe delivery dates . Sorry I'm not use at all but yes they were a flipping pain. That said the sofa is absolutely fine..The armchairs are ok although the legs seem to have a mind of their own. If it comes back to me what the problem was, I'll come back and add something

Had several dfs sofas and all have been very comfy. My mate paid £8000 for his specially made sofas and they are the most uncomfortable things ever.

We’ve previously had DFS which lasted for around 10 years. They were looking a bit tired by the end though, but are still in use in the playroom.
Recently we bought from Oak Furniture Land - found the service and prices much better. Still early days so can’t comment on how well they last.

@RememberBeKindWithKaren Sorry but which company did you buy from?
