How much does a medium sized Magnet kitchen cost?

Looking for the average cost of a medium sized kitchen refit if you use Magnet (not galley or cubby kitchen, but not large open plan either). I’m sure how many units but a u-shaped kitchen in a medium sized space - and including installation.

I realise this changes a lot depending on discounts the fitter can get and where you are in the country - but just roughly?

It was the Wardley range, which is the 2nd most expensive they do, so you could certainly get it done cheaper. They also quoted us 18k for the Soho range. Our splashback was expensive, so you could shave 1k off if you went for a cheaper option. We had an 18k quote from Wickes, 20k from Howdens, and 25k from Wren, but it's likely you will be paying the London premium. I couldn't believe the cost when I started looking into it but our old kitchen was falling apart and we realised prices were likely to keep rising so it was now or never!

Did you use their fitters too? If so, what was the experience like - how long did it take etc?

20/25k inc 2 ovens a dishwasher, fridge/freezer
mostly drawers.
Honestly don’t do it. Get a joiner….i don’t regret our layout but I regret magnet.

I think you were unlucky. We have had two kitchens from Magnet and have been very pleased with them. We got someone else to fit the kitchen.

Our kitchen is a very pale green (Seagrass) and the only thing they got wrong was supplying an induction hob instead of a gas hob. However, as my pans were magnetic we decided to keep the induction hob and got a refund for the difference between the gas hob and induction hob. I have no regrets at all.

This is just a mock up from Magnet, but is shows the colour of cabinets and worktop we went with.

We used their fitters. The kitchen planner made a small mistake when measuring up but the fitter rectified it easily. It took about 8 working days, with a couple of visits afterwards to finish up and fit the splashback, which was provided and fitted by another company. The fitters did chip a drawer front and cupboard side but they replaced them, that took a few weeks because it's a custom colour so they had to order them. The communication from the planner wasn't great, we weren't aware the splashback would be installed by another company, and we couldn't use their finance option because the planner didn't send us the links in time, leading to us putting it on our credit card temporarily whilst we found another solution! Although I imagine there will be some issues no matter who you use. If you go with Magnet, make sure to push them on price, they have huge mark ups and can discount some items to next to nothing. Our engineered wood floor was thrown in for free, other than the delivery charge, the worktop was only £300. We didn't pay for them to reconnect our white goods, because my husband can do it, but they reconnected them anyway, which was helpful. Also, you can have the cabinets delivered assembled, or delivered flat pack, flat pack is significantly cheaper but there is a trade off with a shorter guarantee period for flat pack.

What did yours end up costing OP? I am thinking of getting one -- but I'm in London and don't need any white goods, but I'm worried about how expensive they will end up being...

We got a Magnet kitchen 10 years ago. Sorry, I don't remember what it cost. However, it was very easy just to go into a shop and give your measurements and wish-list. They could then put together an estimate for the goods and fitting.

What we liked about Magnet was their fitting service - they took care of and coordinated all of the trades.
