Should I replace my large walk in shower with a bath?

Thoughts please? We have two bathrooms and I was renovating one, which has a bathtub. The builders have come in, gutted it, and have said spacewise, a shower would work better. Admittedly it was quite crowded with an old giant victorian sink there before. They have also said at some point, i should have a bath put in as houses need both.

So my suggestion has been to replace my en suite walk in with a big bath. That way the house has both. The en suite is hardly used but has always looked nice so im not sure it's worth destroying it. Its probably slightly old fashioned though but its big. However i have great builders and im thinking should I just do it now whilst I have them? They have quoted 2/3 days. What do people think about having a bath in a house/or not?

You can get short deep baths. Japanese baths are an example. You could get one of them to fit your space.

I think most people make changes when they buy a new home.If you don't use a bath leave your ensuite alone and have a nice big shower installed in place of your existing bath.Any new owners in the future can make changes...they will probably be looking to renovate anyway if you are not planning on moving for a while.

I recently got a rolltop bath installed in our ensuite and I LOVE it. I thought twice about putting it in as it's just for me ( hubby doesn't do baths) and I don't use it everyday (no time) but I use it to unwind at the end of a long week. Kids have their own bath with a shower over it but it's not the same. I never used that ever whereas my deep bath gets used religiously every week. If you are planning on staying in the house for a while go for it!
