Willow and Hall - sofa company

I’m on the hunt for a new sofa as my social media algorithm has clearly picked up on. I’m receiving advertisements from Willow and Hall which has good trust pilot reviews. They’re reasonably priced and attractive too.

Has anyone bought from them? I want this to be a long term sofa - our current ones are Ikea and very old (but still fine). Now the children are older I want to get some that I like rather ones which will do and can’t be destroyed!

We tried to but had a bad experience. I really liked the idea of buying British and the fabric samples were lovely. We ordered a sofa bed and armchair, but the sofa got damaged on the way to us and it all went wrong there. They tried to get us to accept it despite the damage so they could repair it in situ but we were concerned about how long that would take and whether we’d be deemed to have accepted it from a certain date/whether the damage would get worse while waiting for the repair, etc, so we asked for it to be taken away for repair and then brought to us. We just couldn’t get them to communicate with us about whether or when it would be sorted and eventually gave up after about six weeks or so (they couldn’t tell us whether it would be repaired or how long it would take).

They did look like lovely products but the communication, when something went wrong, was appalling and nobody seemed very bothered about either resolving it to our satisfaction or resolving it full stop (we’d paid a four figure sum for seating that we didn’t have). Sorry to be so negative!

Yikes! Sofa buying is such a minefield. Who did you go with in the end?

We ended up buying a Loaf sofa from a company which sell seconds (returns, ex-display and so on), and we absolutely love it. Couldn’t have afforded it at full price!

i’ve also heard mixed things about loaf- I’m on the “used your loaf” Facebook page just in case something I love comes up though! Who did you buy through?

We have a W and H sofa bed and I love it. The sofa is quite firm, though we bought it more for the bed function than to sit on that much as the room it’s in is used for other things. The bed element is great. It seems very well made, and good quality. If I were going to buy a sofa I’d opt for the expensive sofa cushions as I prefer softer cushions.

The one we bought through is called 2 Pink Flamingoes. They do advertise on eBay but it’s cheaper to buy through their website. You’ll find them on Facebook as well. I did go and look at the sofa before ordering as I’d decided I wanted to check it over but all was good - they operate out of a warehouse place near Retford - and they could arrange a courier for delivery.

We’ve since bought an armchair unseen from them, so I would trust that what you’re buying was as described. Although I did suck up the credit card fee for extra protection just in case.

Thank you @MyCatPrefersPeachesthat’s very helpful. We’re West Midlands so it’s not impossible to visit.
