Wren Kitchen Nightmare Families Beware

Extremely Disappointed Poor Service and Broken Promises

We had high hopes for Wren Kitchens, but the experience has been frustrating and stressful.

Our installer attempted to solicit private work, which was completely unprofessional. The design was flawed due to incorrect measurements, requiring a second visit. We were left without a working kitchen sink or water for nearly a month far beyond their advertised 28-day timeframe.

Wren initially offered us temporary kitchen facilities, which we accepted, but they later withdrew the offer without explanation. We were left washing dishes outside, which led to a rodent problem and a need for professional pest control a serious health risk, especially with young children at home.

Throughout, communication has been poor. Our questions were often ignored or brushed off, and we received template-style responses rather than meaningful engagement.

We’ve escalated the issue to Novuna and will be filing a complaint with the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO). Wren needs to take accountability for their service and the real-world consequences of their failures.

Would not recommend based on our experience.

They’re awful. We got a kitchen about ten years ago from them and I still shudder when I see one of their lorries on the road. To be fair the actual kitchen was fine but their installer was a joke. I suspect he had never fitted a kitchen in his life, goodness knows where they found him. He eventually disappeared abroad before completing the job and we ended up with his sub contractors on our doorstep asking for money he owed them. Wren manage to wriggle out of any responsibility for their fitters - they are ‘theirs’ when it suits them and entirely independent third parties when that suits them better. I sometimes wish we had taken it further but I was pregnant and just wanted the ordeal over with.

We got our kitchen from Wren and they were brilliant throughout. We even ended up getting a discount as it should have been delivered during lockdown and of course it had to be postponed. We used a local kitchen fitter who was very good, and there were no issues at all apart from the filter for the extractor fan being the wrong one. Wren sent a replacement out very quickly.

This is why you always get your own fitter from personal recommendations, never use the ones from the shop, be it Wren, Wickes, B&Q whatever. I have a Wren kitchen installed by my builders and I couldn't be more happy with it. There were one or two bits that arrived slightly damaged, Wren had replacements delivered within days. My builders said they'd installed all types of kitchens and actually liked Wren as the fitting plans are so detailed compared to others.
