In Desperate Search of my Perfect Bed

Hi everyone, I could really use some advice!

I’m in the process of moving and sadly have to part with what I consider my almost perfect bed. I’m now on the hunt for a worthy replacement but struggling to find something that fits both my wishlist and my budget – so I’m turning to the collective wisdom of this forum for help.

Here’s what I think I need (though I’m open to being told otherwise!):

• Super king size
• Two separate mattresses
• No fabric – ideally wood, faux leather, or metal
• Colour: white or grey
• Storage preferred – ottoman or drawers
• Budget: under £1,000

Does such a unicorn exist, or am I being completely unrealistic?

In our spare room we have this in a Superking and it had two single mattresses but now has one superking mattress. But we bought ours almost 18 years ago and I can’t see it in a superking online so possible they don’t go that big now but have a good look just incase I’m missing something looking on my phone. It’s available in white and grey. DD has the double version and the underbed storage is great.

I imagine if you go for wood/metal you’d have to settle for separate drawers on casters that roll under the bed? So you can probably get what you want, but you might have to buy all the components separately (frame, mattresses, storage solution)

I’d just Google superking bedframe and start there. What kind of style are you after?

I am open to style as long as the bed is either grey or white. I have searched online and found some nice looking grey ones but they are all made of fabric, which is not a good idea with cats. :)

We never get our mattresses from ikea, just the beds. You can usually get mattresses you love elsewhere to fit. My bed at the moment is John Lewis but no under bed storage and it’s my favourite ever. My mattress is firm and again best I’ve ever had. Silent Night eco Miracoil ortho.

Good idea, I just have to watch out for sizes as will need them to be 200cm in length.

Any recommendations for mattresses to fit those IKEA superking beds?

Have you looked at Cotswold Co? They have a few that fit the bill but here’s one - since you want super king size you’d just need to get two single mattresses. You could just use underbed storage bags for ease?
