What would you put up here, curtains? Blinds?

I prefer curtains but I can’t envision how they could look here. Can anyone suggest anything please?

I would prefer curtains, I’m just not sure how to hang them.

You could get some tracks put into the ceiling and have the curtains hang from there. They are not too expensive and they look lovely. Alternatively, just a corner window/bay window curtain rod with 3 sides. I think the John Lewis fabric you like is gorgeous.

Is that a shelf above them??
I think I'd take that down, leave the roller blinds, and fit a single track all the way round the bay.

Then a pair of curtains (or maybe 2 pairs of curtains?) that can either be partially pulled into the corner, or totally pulled round the whole bay.

I like your fabric, but can't picture it with the yellow walls. Could be fine tho.

The walls will be painted, probably cream.

Cream? Are you keeping the carpet? I’d go for a warmer white but not a yellow cream.

Tracks in the ceiling might not be good enough for heavy curtains by the way. We have a substantial pole for linen curtains. Also if you park them in the bay, you lose light.

These are my blinds closed and curtains in the other room with French doors.

That looks lovely. Thanks.

Whatever you do, if you have curtains don’t have short ones on the side and long ones for the door! They all need to be floor length OR, Roman blinds down to the sills for the windows and floor length curtains for the door, ideally with blinds in a neutral colour and shade and the curtains in your fabric of choice.

I would not have curtains parked next to blinds that are completely different fabric. Curtains are quite bulky and they will either cover a lot of the French windows or the side windows/blinds. You can get a mix of blind lengths for everything (eg Luxaflex) or have curtains outside the bay. Mixing the two is a bit odd in that shape. I do agree that mixing curtain lengths doesn’t work - blinds are more forgiving.
