What colour front door with pebble grey windows please??

TL;DR: we’re getting pebble grey windows. Would you also get the front (French window) doors and garage door the same colour? If not, what colour would you get them?

I would really appreciate some opinions…

We’re about to get all of our windows replaced with pebble grey flush upvc (the name has grey in it but they’re actually more of a greeney-taupe - RAL 7032 if anyone cares enough to look it up!) and our garage door and front door also need replacing.

My concern is that our house is quite wide and flat (if that makes sense?) so there are quite a lot of windows on the front of our house, including two bow/bays. Our front door is to the porch and is actually a double set of french-style doors. I’m not sure if it will look a bit overwhelming to have all the windows AND a double front door AND the garage door all in the same shade?

All slightly complicated by the fact we have red hanging tiles across top half of most of the house and slightly mismatched bricks everywhere else 🙈

Sincere thanks to anyone who’s read this far and any advice (especially with pics!!) appreciated!

When in doubt - white. Failing that, black.

@ApolloandDaphne would you mind sharing a pic of your oak roller garage door please? I think that’s the way we’re going to go but I’m nervous about it looking really odd and fake? You seem to have lovely style so I’m hoping that, if that’s what you went for, it looks great 😂

Here is a picture. It's on the end of our house so there are no windows or doors near it. Compared to our old tatty up and over door this new one seems very swanky! I don't think it looks particularly fake.

@ApolloandDaphne ooo no it doesn’t at all! I really like that 😍

Thank you so much for getting back to me!!

I have just found this thread and am really interested as to what you went for and how it looked in the end @MetaniumWhereAreYou . We are having a window man around today and are thinking of Pebble grey windows- do you remember the name of the window makers - we are looking at Rehau windows but I would like to be certain that their Pebble grey is greeny grey.

We are also deliberating over the colour of the front and garage doors - what did you go with in the end?

ApolloandDaphne · 09/06/2025 10:47

Pebble grey is definitely a greenish grey. That's what we have. I think I posted pictures on this thread.

This is one of our doors.

Pebble grey isn't actually grey. It's a soft gray green and looks mellow not depressing. I found a photo of my front door to let you see the colour.

I think that looks perfect with the stone.

Haversham pink from Rustoleumcolours.co.uk would look lovely.

It's available in upvc, wood and more paint types.

Thank you @ApolloandDaphne . I love the colour! We had a window man around today and he is trying to convince us to have Agate grey as he cannot get matching Pebble grey fascia boards. So many decisions to make!

Hiya we went for the pebble grey and they’re getting fitted as we speak! Really pleased with them and they go great with the red hanging tiles. Definitely a greeney-grey-taupe and a perfect mix of cool and warm imo! Glad they looked good as windows are not cheap are they so we’d have been stuck with them for a while regardless 😂

Ours are Visage flush fit casement with one astrigal bar. They have a nice woodgrain effect but nothing OTT.

I found a really useful website that lets you compare different RAL colours side-by-side and gives you the closest match in F&B/Dulux, etc. so you could always paint swatches and see what you think?

Thank you responding @MetaniumWhereAreYou and apologies for taking so long to reply (phone issues!). I have been trying to convince myself to go with Pearl grey as then the fascia boards could be replaced by the same company but I really l love the Pebble grey.

Are you replacing the fascias and if so, what colour are you having? We are also thinking about a new front door and trying to decide what colour to have - too many decisions! Do you have any thoughts?

I hadn’t heard of Visage windows so am now going down that rabbit hole too 😀. It’s such a major investment that I want to get it right. Thanks again for responding.

No worries! I was the same 😂

We’ve kept the existing soffits (if that’s what you mean?) so they’re still white atm but we may paint them at some point. Front door will be oak and everything else is pebble grey 😊

I'd ho pebbles gray but a rich cream or butter milk might suit.

Tallpoplartree · 15/06/2025 21:01

Thanks @MetaniumWhereAreYou ! Our fascia boards are the vertical boards on the house to which the gutters are attached. They need replacing as they are rotten- it’s turning into a bigger job than expected 😂. Yours sounds very nice 😊
