Will a navy blue kitchen look dated quickly?

We're looking at getting a new kitchen and I'm really taken with navy blue cupboards. But I'm worried I'll get bored quickly and if we come to sell it will not appeal to everyone. But I'm so bored of white and cream. Should we just go for it?

My brother and his wife have a navy kitchen teamed with marble/porcelain very similar to this -

They have had it around 8 years I think.

It does look lovely but the natural lighting they have is very good. Not sure how navy works look when lighting is poor.

I don't think you should worry about things looking dated, fashions by definition will date. But you should buy what you like and are happy to live with. The bigger problem in my mind is the samey-ness of interior fashions. Whenever a tv programme renovates a house the kitchen scheme is entirely predictable.

We’ve gone for really warm tones in ours. We have brick walls (brick slip tiles) together with copper splashbacks, copper handles and iroko wood worktops.

I absolutely love my kitchen. I give zero fucks how untrendy it is 😂 I’ve got a thread here under a different username with photos from a few months ago. MN have got a ban on uploading photos at the moment because of the site problems but I can link to thread or you can pm me if you want to see.

What colour handles do you plan on having?

I love our navy blue kitchen. I suggest copper handles and tap - it looks stunning! We just have white walls with it.
We do have a big open plan kitchen/lounge though, can’t comment how it would look/if it would be too dark in a small, enclosed kitchen.
