If you have a green kitchen what colour cupboard handles do you have?

Thinking of green darker than sage but not forest green and struggling with handles.

Toying with brushed nickel , black or aged brass.

Wondering if nickel will disappear, black will stand out too much and we don’t have much else brass although we could add in touches I guess.

I vote brushed nickel, assuming the green will be on the cooler side 🙋‍♀️

A brass colour is nice and classic

piscofrisco · 04/01/2025 09:36

We have brass.

Inlimboin50s · 04/01/2025 09:36

I have olive green with antique brass knobs.

Augustif0lia · 04/01/2025 09:37

Then there is antique grey….kind of aged iron. I’m the worst person to be deciding this kind of thing. Small details bug the hell out of me if wrong. 🤣

Friends have copper which looks gorgeous with the green..

ArgosOrArgoose · 04/01/2025 09:40

Pewter - looks lovely against dark sage and doesn’t clash too badly with any silver ware.

Augustif0lia · 04/01/2025 09:41

Those of you with brass are all your other metals in the kitchen brass- appliances, taps, utensils. We’re going to be having a rather large brushed steel fridge. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We have round, wooden knobs.
(On the kitchen units, not on ourselves.)

Pewter is an idea, is that aged iron, antique grey? We’re going to need a couple of hanging rails. Suspect they’d need to be the same- or not?😫

I do like antique brass too with green but worried about the finish wearing off and us having nothing else in that colour tone although we could add in.

Like black too but worried that it’s too jarring…

Depends on what other metalwork you have, appliances themselves, appliance handles if not integrated, light fittings etc.
Personally, with a brushed steel fridge I'd be matching to that.

Having said that, I've got sage units, black sink & tap, black & chrome range cooker - and brushed silver/chrome handles.

We have f&b olive green kitchen cupboards with unpolished natural wooden knobs. Looks fab!

Yes I would aged iron would be a really similar colour, pewter slightly warmer maybe.
Originally I wanted an aged brass look but found matching the colour to appliances/switches/sockets a nightmare!

This is my fear although I love the aged brass look, did you go for pewter, if so where did you get your handles? Does aged brass finish wear off I wonder.

Worried about too many metals. Have brushed steel Dualit toaster, new hob and oven, fridge would be brushed steel and black( no other option), will need a couple of hanging rails, lights, tap would be brushed steel or nickel…

We've got a darker green kitchen and used antique brass - although to be honest, I think we made a mistake as it looks a bit "safe" and boring.
I plan to change them to nickel.

That sounds lovely - our kitchen is olive green too and now you've got me thinking about other options for handles.

okydokethen · 04/01/2025 10:30

Ours is more sage green with brass - did get brass hot tap but kept sockets white, fridge is black with no silver bits on it which was a bit of a faff.

My green kitchen was fairly dark shade and I had black. For mid or lighter - hmmm. My current kitchen is handle less. Nickel I'm not sure goes with a lighter green. Copper? Or a dulled down brass - not too gold. Can you post a link to the colour?

Devilsmommy · 04/01/2025 10:49

I've got dark green with brushed brass

ArgosOrArgoose · 04/01/2025 11:06

We got them from Howdens, loads to choose from and compare to the cupboard colours/worktop/appliances.

Stickortwister · 04/01/2025 11:08

Can i jump in and ask if you've got brass what are your taps like.... Struggling to find a brass tap I like which isn't super expensive

We have these. They're less shiny looking in real life. They're textured Iron from DIY Kitchens.
