Repairing an old Iron Bed Company bed( plastic slat brackets and potentially slats)

We’ve got what was an old Iron Bed Company / Feather and Black bed, about 25 years old. The plastic slat holders are broken and hold the slats with tape. It’s a lovely bed and I don’t want o get rid. Any idea how to repair. Do you need new slats, ours are still fine?

Do you have a picture? I had something similar a few years ago with a Laura Ashley bed frame, and if I recall we ripped out the plastic slats and a joiner friend made a wooden frame with slats which sat just inside the bed frame and worked perfectly until DD outgrew the bed.

You need ‘bed slat connectors’ or receivers. There’s loads if you google. Lots of different sizes.

Example here.

Wow who knew!!! There is a company for everything! Thankyou! Do you think slats need replacing after a few years, they’re not broken.

I wouldn’t replace the slats if they were ok.
