Kitchen cabinet paint angst - Farrow and ball Blackened or Dimpse

Hello!
Ive been trying to find a pale grey paint for kitchen cabinets - whittled it down to f&b Blackened and Dimpse.

Blackened: swithering towards this paint, but they describe it as an ‘off white’ on the website which is putting me off. We’ve done a big sample on lining paper and looks pale grey to me. Just worried it might be too pale/end up looking white.

Dimpse: this is described as a grey, with cool/blue tones… But I think it looks a little tiny bit of a muddy grey. When I did the tester there seemed to be swirls of a slightly muddy colour in it. Very light muddiness, but we prefer cool/blue tone to muddy. Also did a big lining paper sample of this.

Im slightly losing my marbles so any help/thoughts gratefully received!

The cabinets will have a white quartz top with a grey marble/vein running through it and we’ve gone with f&b hague blue for the island.

thank you!

In my experience, you have to use your eye rather than text to choose F&B colours. Their descriptions, imo, are fanciful. E.g. I have a carpet in Lots Blue that is quite distinctly green.

Dimpse is darker. I personally would not like it in a kitchen - it looks a bit dreary to me.

My advice would be that if you like the look of Blackened, use it. It "reads" grey, not white.

Thank you so much, that’s so helpful and reassuring! :)
