Attached are my curtains that I have had in storage. I only have one pair..but I need to.find something similar or something that will go with them for 2 other windows in the same room! Can anyone help please? I had these made quite a few years ago so can't go back and have more made! I have Google lensed but just comes up with fabric.

If anyone has any suggestions of similar or something that would go with them I would be so greatful!

Thank you!

Are you hoping to find an exact match or something that will work with these for the other two windows but that isn't the same?

Relearningbehaviour · 05/10/2024 15:48

If there was a match or close enough that would be amazing. But anything that would just work with it would be equally amazing. It's an old farm house. So ideally thermal insulated too.

Can’t you get the fabric and have it made into curtains?

Relearningbehaviour · 05/10/2024 16:00

I think I would something that would go with it instead
I had these curtains made 9 years ago so won't get the exact match in fabric

You'd be surprised how long fabric manufacturers continue to print the same fabric. Are you sure it's been discontinued?

Relearningbehaviour · 05/10/2024 16:06

@BruceAndNosh yes unfortuantly. They where made by a small turkish seamstress in a shop In London 9 years ago. I already asked them just to double check

I used to remake curtains for people who had moved house. Several times I used much loved expensive fabric from existing curtains to create a contrast border on new plain curtains

That's amazing and a great idea. If I can't find what I would like, I will remember this.

What do you think of these...

Can you do a more zoomed out pic of the pattern to give some idea of how it repeats? And another one with something in the pic to show the scale of the pattern? Or even with a ruler or tape measure laid on it.
I think mixing patterns is fun but need more info to get the best ideas.

@heldinadream I will try! They aren't up at the moment. They have been in storage for 3 years. Shall come back ASAP!

Mixing patterns can work but it's tricky. Using a plain faux silk that tones well with your damask would be safer. You want it to look intentional, rather than "I didn't have enough fabric"!

@heldinadream lights isn't amazing in the old house. We move next week. But they are like a dark duck egg and bronzey gold

You are a genius. How did you find those so similar in colour and pattern?

BlouseyBrownMalone · 05/10/2024 19:12

I like those Helena Debenhams ones.

Relearningbehaviour · 05/10/2024 19:33

@caringcarer Google lense! But they are the wrong length

@BlouseyBrownMalone do you think the taupe colour or the silver would be better?

Hello hello I'm back. I had a look earlier but I couldn't find anything but it did clarify my ideas as to what would work.
I think it needs both similar elements and different ones. So either same pattern or very similar pattern but colours and type of fabric different, or same colours etc etc.
I think those first ones you found are actually very good. They look like the same goldy-bronzy colour but the patterns are all wavy instead of precise.
I tried looking in the opposite direction of a similar precise pattern in a different sort of colour but I couldn't find what I was envisaging.
I think also if the colours or type of fabric are going to be the same it needs to be bang on, and you're not going to know until they arrive how good a match it is.
Have you got any actual fabric/curtain shops IRL you could take one of the curtains along to and put things side by side?
Sorry I didn't come up with anything. Might try again tomorrow.
The original curtains are indeed lovely, by the way.

Thank you @heldinadream really appreciate you having a go!

I might order a pair from Debenham and see how they are and then if I like them order a second. Not really any shops other than department stores In my area!

Course also most if not all curtain sites will send you some free fabric samples. Might be worth sending for a variety of samples before deciding what to shell out on?

Oh amazing! Good to know! Thank you
