Help me decide on sofa swatches

See image - I’m wanting the navy for one sofa, then I’m thinking a cream/beige for the other sofa. I’ve also thrown in a random olive swatch too.
Any opinions? Will it work or not? DP would rather have matching and not keen on beige/cream but really it’s my decision
😁

Definitely get two sofas the same, I agree it will look odd with two different legs. Two navy sofas would look nice.

That’s it settled then - Seafoam paint, two navy sofas and a different chair (that can be decided later)
Thank you all for your input!

Can I be cheeky please and ask what the fabric sample is on the bottom row in the middle? Looking for sofa too and that colour looks ideal for us. Thanks :)

Fab! Don't forget you can jazz up 2 navy sofas with cushions and throws. With that wallpaper you've got loads of colour and design options. Room's going to be stunning!

heldinadream · 14/09/2024 12:51

Oh and presumably you'll have a rug too? So much fun, I love choosing rugs. 😍

This is the rug we already have so think it’ll be perfect for bringing some more colour to the room! And yes will definitely jazz up with cushions 🙂

I feel like I’m going to have to post a photo of the living room once it’s all done 😁

Pleeeeaaaase do! Would love to see it!

I think it would work and like the swatches to the bottom left and middle.

Seaside3 · 14/09/2024 17:14

If your sofas are different designs I would have then both in navy. It's going to take a very good eye to pull off all the mismatching otherwise, and it could just end up looking a but like everything g is 2nd hand/hand me downs.
Which is exactly how my lounge looks, bit if I had money i would have 2 matching sofas.
But, to throw a complete spanner in the works, I would have navy walls and probably green sofas...or leather, as I'm forever getting stains on my material sofa.

Seaside3 · 14/09/2024 17:18

Also, consider things like a painted side table rather than a different coloured chair. I tend towards more neutral for something like sofas as they're expensive to replace. Paint/paper isn't as expensive if you want a refresh in a couple of years.

You can add even more colour with lamps, pictures and Ornaments tio, not just cushions and throws.

Please do! I would love to see it for some inspiration.

Will most certainly come back in a few weeks/months time once it’s all together. We’re getting our keys to new house next week so it’ll probably be a little while before it all comes together!

This is true. I absolutely love all the mismatching I see online, but these tend to be interior designers who can swap things in and out at a moments notice, not somebody who’s just taken delivery of a sofa and decided it’s not quite right!

Tell me you are kidding about the rug, please!!

Dermadirj · 14/09/2024 23:23

Love the wallpaper, its so sumptuous. Going to play devil's advocate but could you get a Chesterfield type sofa instead? In a richly coloured velvet? Something just as fabulous as the wallpaper - I like these:

(I've become far too interested in this)...

I think with that sort of rich wallpaper you need to commit with the rest of the room, so drench the other walls in the same deep blue colour, and have some gorgeous sofas too. I like the burnt orange velvet one, with a very light green one (that acts as a bit of relief from the other colours without being a neutral), and then a cognac leather chair in a corner somewhere with a fun side table.

I'd also be wary of matching your sofas to your paper. I'd pick the sofas (more expensive and likely to see several decor changes) that you love, then your wallpaper.

I’m afraid not - it does work in our current living room, but if it looks bad with the new set up I’ll definitely replace! Currently in a beige rental so it was the best thing to give a bit of colour.

Loving the investment 😁 I think those colours look fab with it, but as another poster said I think it might be better to not match the sofa colour to the wallpaper - I’m not sure if burnt orange sofas are the easiest colour to pull off, to be honest!
I think a more ‘boring’ colour such as navy is probably easier to style around
