SOFAS- who would you avoid like the plague?

I've read some awful reviews over the years but can't remember which.

Sofa?https://www.sofa.com/gb/bespoke-sofas/bluebell-sofa/p/SO-BLU

Loaf? loaf.com/products/pudding-sofa?size=small&source=plp

I've only seen one possible sofa in J Lewis and fear it may be being discontinued.

I'm looking for something similar to the above.

Avoid loaf. Pretty but uncomfortable and you spend your whole life pummeling the pillows back into shape

The best dosing I ever had was from an independent called Lucas furniture. In Aylesbury if that's doable? W head to sift through a lot of rotters in there til we found it but it was phenomenal, affordable and customer service grand.
Second best was one from next

We had a nightmare with Furniture Village and had to get the ombudsman involved
two chairs replaced and the sofa restitched within months. It has all been OK since but their customer service when there were issues was shocking.

Loaf LOOKS great but are usually super low (tricky if you have older relatives) and the cushions sag hugely - have to spend ages plumping them.

Sofa.com quality has declined in the last few years. Look on Trustpilot. Quite a few people mention that the sofa they received is not as comfortable as the one in the showroom. Around the time Mike Ashley acquired the company so shouldn't be surprised.

We chose a sofa from John Lewis, as I don’t really trust the companies that have constant sales on, or are solely web based.
I ordered it two weeks ago and it was delivered today. The delivery was on time, and within a two hour slot. I’m happy. Tbh. I’d rather pay a bit more for peace of mind. The Cotswold company are also very good. They have a couple of showrooms, so you can see it before ordering.

Dfs but not because of the sofas, because when I worked as a loan officer years ago, even people who did not believe they had ever missed a payment were left with a poorer credit rating. Saw it a few times. Sometimes, when faced with shocked indignant upset faces I'd say "do you have a dfs sofa" and the mystery was solved.

Their sofas are OK though, I like them

People do slate DFS but we had a a very good experience with them. Our 8yr old corner sofa didn’t fit our new house so we passed it on to a friend and it still looks good today. We replaced it with two smaller sofas from SofaSofa, off the back of glowing reviews on Mumsnet. Apparently they are made in Wales, family owned business and trading for years. Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with the quality after only a year and even more disappointed with their attitude towards it. I can only assume their quality has taken a nose dive in recent years. People saying their SofaSofa items have lasted 20 years, I am not sure we will be keeping ours in a years time. Wish we had stuck with DFS.

My DFS sofa has to be one of my best ever adult purchases. 10 years old, still going strong and looking great.
