Where do adults buy beds from?

Long time IKEA bed buyer, but we have decided to get rid of our latest one and it’s scabby old mattress and want to invest in a lovely bed. But where do we look?

I recently bought one from 'Crazy Price Beds', which was from a targeted ad on Facebook. It was a complete gamble and expectations very low, but it was great. Really excellent service and perfectly decent bedframe (bedknobs and broomsticks style). They managed the delivery so well without any fuss and the human-to-human comms from the owner of the company were massively better than expected, especially at the price point. Got an expensive mattress elsewhere though.

We’ve just had one made! We found an amazing furniture shop totally by chance, and we’ve since had them make lots of bespoke things for our house. Surprisingly inexpensive and so much sturdier than ikea.

Are you happy to share? We have very odd sized alcoves and made to measure would be ideal.
Our bed is from John Lewis Visprung it's fantastic was£££ but guarantee for 30 years so will see me out!!Confused

Got my daughter's from Carpetright it's the most deliciously comfortable bed I have ever laid on. Everyone who sleeps in it says the same. Got my own from Dreams. Not as nice as DD's but a lot cheaper.

They’re in South Wales but said they’ve done a delivery as far as Scotland so could be worth a try? We’re very happy with our furniture from them!

I went to a local, independent bed shop. I like supporting small businesses and for beds in particular I think a physical shop where you can try beds and mattresses is important. Much better service than Dreams.

If you're looking to "invest" in a new bed, the best way is find a local retailer who deals with the higher-end manufacturers. We bought a Vispring mattress; it's just so comfortable (and has a 30 year guarantee).

I bought the last few beds from Bed Factory Direct. A friend of mine knows one of the team (Jayne) who couldn't help us enough - 0151 2455737

Genuinely the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on.
