If so do you think it would look good with a charcoal grey sofa and reclaimed oak shelves? I was about to go with elephants breath but then saw this and think I like it more as it’s less bland/neutral .

Yes I have it in our spare bedroom. I always think it's very incorrectly named as it is in no way grey but a lovely warm green! It's a North facing room so that might make a difference. It would definitely go with oak shelving and I think it would go with charcoal sofas but that probably depends on the lighting. I'd get a sample and paint it on some paper and move it around the room to see how it looks in different lights. It's a lovely colour.

Yes I have it in one of the living rooms, it’s a gorgeous colour and would absolutely go with oak, I think it would work with the sofa, but I advise doing a patch test.

Thanks. I’m glad you are happy with it. In all the online pics it always looks a beautiful green not grey at all but because of the. name I wondered if it had a grey undertone which might work well with the charcoal colour sofa. I’ll definitely do a patch test.

It is green and I have it in my utility room. It was very very popular on front doors 10 years ago.

I have french grey in my front room. It's definitely green with grey undertone. I did have grey blinds but together it was far too dark so had to replace with something lighter. But it does work really well with other dark colours - my sofa is dark navy and it looks good. It's a lovely colour.

I really love the colour.im goin to get a tester and paint a big piece of cardboard. That way I can move it around in different light. It’s good it goes well with a. Dark blue sofa.My flat is south facing and gets a lot of light so I’m hoping it’ll look good

You said your sofa was charcoal grey

Charlieradioalphapapa · 18/02/2024 17:43

IAmNotAVet. Yes my sofa is charcoal but I thought it was good it goes with dark blue too, in that the grey undertone would work with both. My reply was very confusing

Haha. As long as you're happy. Love the colour

I put a sample up. It looked horrible. Like a brown grey with a bit of green. Dirty puddle colour.

CarrieMoonbeams · 18/02/2024 21:45

I love it. We have it in 2 rooms, the North facing living room (where it's a soft sage green) and in the hallway - it looks almost olive there.

CCSS15 · 18/02/2024 21:48

I love it and have had it in 2 living rooms - it changes throughout the day. It goes beautifully with oak wood

TangoinTokyo · 18/02/2024 21:48

I painted my kitchen in it 16 years ago.
It looks quite blue in a SW facing room but oddly today I have painted green samples on it as I am repainting and suddenly it looks green.
I think it is quite a dated colour personally.

Thanks everyone. I’m definitely going to need to paint a large sample to move around . It’s a very bright flat. If it’s going to look brown grey with a bit of green that’s not the look I’m after . My original idea was elephants breath . I’ve got a big piece of board with it painted on and it does look nice. I just saw the French grey on Pinterest and it got me thinking
