What colour with this sofa

Help needed please. We can't decide and stupidly asked DC too which has just made it even more complicated.

I love this pic from sofa.com. Our sofa but ours is very dark blue. The rest of family think it's too green. I'm not a fan of the very grey/blue colours they like. So seeking other's opinions!

We have sampled F&B Dix blue, oval room blue, stone blue.

Agree with this. Avoid grey/blue as they are cold colours. You need to add warm tones to the room. Something like these

Was just looking at Ammonite which is very similar colour to Skimming Stone @Baxdream.

We have a slightly lighter blue sofa and dulux jade white silk walls and really like it.

We viewed a house recently with navy sofas and a sort of pink ( plaster colour) walls, it looked fab!

Here you go...honestly it would look absolutely beautiful! It's such a warm colour and not too dark at all ❤️

Let us know what you've decided ❤️❤️ I'm having my lounge and dining room painted in February in Green Smoke with School House White woodwork and ceilings. My sofas are dark aubergine velvet.

She seems to have painted above the picture rail too now so can't be too dark although she does have huge windows

I'd go for a rusty orange but can appreciate that's not to everyone's taste😂

What about Little Greene Grey Stone? Despite the name it isn’t grey but doesn’t have a green tinge like many blues. We used it after making a mistake with another blue and are really pleased with it.

I've had a play on canva with sofas, wall colours, floor colours etc.

That does look nice! Think my mum used to have one of those pics on her wall.

Off to see what canva is. I'd put loads of pics and colours in Pinterest but I'd like to be able to make a mood board. Just don't know how

I like the warm grey shared above but also love combos of blue and green. Nicola Harding often used these in her schemes to great effect - here's a recent post about just that combination for some inspiration...

Pink and blue are also beautiful together. Perhaps a more neutral leaning pink like F&B Setting Plaster.

Well that is weird @laclochette I’ve just been looking at Nicola Hardings Insta after googling Uk interior design blogs. Saved a lovely photo of a blue chaise long and nice neutral paint but I can’t find the colour on the post. Will read that link later.

We are now on about our 9th tester. Sofa coming soon so we’ll see how the cooour works

DD has gone for a muted terracotta colour with her navy sofa which looks good .I like the plaster type colour option if you are looking for a warm option but agree with a pp that green smoke is a lovely colour and not as cold as you might think.

Ours is a little lighter than that - and we went for pink walls (F&B Pink Ground). I’d look at colours like F&B Setting Plaster if you think the room can take it. Or, if the north end needs brightening up, I’d look at yellows. But pinks and blues are a lovely combination!

The best thing to do is to order paint sample tins and paint metre squared patches, wait for the sofa to arrive, pop it front of your patches and colour match by eye. Apologies if I’ve missed what aspect your room is, but this changes colours quite dramatically. Make sure to look at different times of day, too. I like the idea of dark blue sofa and green blue walls.

Here are some of my faves of her pink/warm neutral and blue schemes, maybe one of these?

@CatStoleMyChocolate I have Pink Ground in my sitting room! Love it. (I have dark green sofas.) I love Setting Plaster but Pink Ground worked better with the quality of light in the room.

We have f&b skimming stone and stiffkey blue with navy sofas…they’re both warm shades which work well in our south facing room

If it’s a north facing room that doesn’t get much light then no about of ‘warm’ blue or grey is going to alleviate the darkness. Have you thought about going yellow? I did it in mine and it bathes the whole room in sunshine. It would go perfectly with a blue sofa.

Dulux tranquil dawn? Lighter than some of the above lovely colours but it changes with the light to be blue-green-silver. It's a very calm colour and I love it, though some of the above deeper colours are lovely.
The pinks also look good, though for me personally I'm not sure of the longevity of enjoying it, but that's personal, I tend to lean towards blue greens anyway, duck egg has always been a favourite.

I would complement the navy sofa with something neutral: Stockholm white, greige, other white colours. Plus jewel colours for accents. Too much blue may make the room look dull and cold if not careful.

Oka.com have lovely combinations of bright jewel colours and neutrals, thier interior pictures can be used as an inspiration.

Definitely oval room blue. It would look great. But, key is not to paint any woodwork/fireplace/window frames in pure brilliant white - you need an off white with warm blue/yellow tones or else it will clash. Maybe something like School House white. The recommended white is Ammonite but I think that is too white/cold.

add some linen toned accessories and it will look beautiful.
