Sofas and Stuff - decent quality?

Hello I’ve been eyeing up the Alwinton sofa from Sofas and Stuff and they claim to be high-quality furniture makers - but I’m a bit put off the company by some of the online reviews. Has anyone any experience of buying furniture from them, please? Thank you in advance!

No experience but I see that they score 85% in Trustpilot which isn’t too bad.

I haven't bought one but I've been to the showroom a few times. I'd say the quality is very good but hard to know how it ages. I was put off by the fact you couldn't machine wash the covers, and I have young children so went to Ikea instead!

Yes, excellent. I have 2 sofas that I bought from them probably 10 years ago. They are still in excellent condition.

I bought a good second hand M&S one from The British Heart Foundation charity shop !

Thanks for your comments everyone. I appreciate it. Online reviews are mixed - but then they often are.

Yes I’ve recently bought a 3 seater sofa in velvet and a snuggler in a cotton print. I would say the quality is excellent. The frames and fabric finishes I can’t fault. I bought a dfs snuggler for a different room at the same time and the quality is much lower.

Yes - they are pretty good quality. Better than your DFSs and similar. Worst sofa we’ve ever had was M&S - bought about 15 years ago - chucked out after 2 years. I’d rather have sat on the floor.

Yes very happy with our purchases.

We've had a bed, mattress, sofa, snuggler and arm chair for a few years now. Some delays on delivery timescales otherwise great

We have a sofa and stuff corner sofa that's still great after 8 years (ish). There's a bit of rubbing/piling on one cushion but it's the one the dog tends to lie on so don't think I can actually blame them for that. Ours isn't the expensive range, it was the ready-made one. Would love one of the custom ones.

Thanks very much everyone - it’s reassuring to hear your experiences. I’m now worrying about keeping it clean as I have a small child. Any tips? I’m thinking a ban on food in the lounge and maybe a throw over it when muddy legs are in season..?
