Get Laid Beds - So disappointing.

We ordered a $2100 king size wooden bed frame from Get Laid Beds and had a really disappointing experience. Writing this review to save others from making the same mistake. Avoid this company. They do not care about their customers.

The company is in the UK, but they ship to the US. We are in the US, so even with paying for the 'express' option the bed took roughly four weeks to arrive. Unfortunately 7 of the 12 boxes got completely damaged during shipping. Two of the boxes were damaged so badly that DHL had to repackage them.

Normally this wouldn't be a big deal right? Because the company properly packed the boxes with bubble wrap, styrofoam, or or other protective material? Think again. Get Laid Beds didn't put a single piece of protective material in the boxes... they literally put a $2100 wooden bed inside cardboard, zero protection, and shipped it across the world. I have never seen anything like it in all my life.

Naturally we had dozens of pieces of wood that were dented, chipped, cracked, broken. I immediately sent photos of everything to customer service.
Chasing customer service was unpleasant and frustrating. I think I reached out to them close to two dozen times, and rarely heard back without contacting them 2 or 3x. They gave me three very mediocre options in the end, each more disappointing than the last.

  1. Repack all the boxes and return the bed (we just waited a month for this bed that we were excited about while we slept on the floor

  2. Spend hours cataloging every piece of damage with photos, identifying which piece is which, and waiting 4 weeks for them to replace the individual damaged pieces (while we have zero confidence the new pieces wouldn't arrive damaged, meaning 8+ weeks waiting for our bed and sleeping on the floor

  3. A highly insulting offer to keep the damaged bed, and receive a laughable $150 credit.
I wish I had read all the other negative reviews online before wasting my time and money dealing with this company. I hope someone learns from my mistake.

That’s a shame must be a shipping overseas problem. We got my daughter’s bed from there a couple of years ago and the bed and service was fine.(in the uk) Hope you get it resolved.

My ex ordered a bed from them some years ago. A similar situation with missing/damaged pieces, supplying photos and waiting aaaages for substitution. Once assembled, the bed was creaky as hell and unpleasant to sleep in. After lots of back-and-fro, the company came and took away their unfit for purpose product.

I was mostly surprised about the awful design of the product. I don't think I've ever seen a wooden bed as ugly as that. It looked like someone had gone to woodyard, bought a load of barely processed pine planks, made some bolt-holes in them and called it a bed. I think the photos on the website are bad enough (so I dunno how the company gets custom) but the reality was so bad it was funny.
