Absolutely it would go, I've seen many examples, I'm sure Pinterest will have lots of ideas.
And yes, get lots of free samples of fabrics. It's a question of choosing the colours. Green and and cream is a good shout, I'd go muted although I know the strong jewel colours are more "in" right now.

Yes, it would look amazing. I'd be tempted to go gingham in spring/summer and a more tartan style later in year, if you can afford it.
It's lovely to see some country style and colour.

Gingham (smalll check) would work perfectly for a cottagey look.

I love that wallpaper!
Yes gingham or striped fabric would look great. Contrasting patterns give classic decor a modern style.

@Guiltypleasures001 ive done farrow and ball french gray in the alcoves and slipper satin on the other 3 walls.

Thankyou for all the helpful replies , really appreciated. My last house was very minimal and plainly decorated which I liked but wanted to try something different this time but then have found it super hard to choose what would go with what. I half expected a loaf of replies saying wtf have you done 😂

Decor looks lovely but I'd go for a tartan check over gingham.

I love it and think gingham would go beautifully. As pps said, get a load of samples to colour match.

Gingham would look great. Will be such a pretty, relaxing room.

Gingham would be perfect for a country house/grandmillenial/Homes & Gardens feel but get LOADS of decent-sized samples as the check size and colour can vary so much; I think you need a decent size square to balance the florals or a micro gingham. Chestnut red if you’re into disruptor colours, otherwise pick up the pink from the wallpaper – there’s already enough green in the room.

Amazing advice.

Another vote for a geometric pattern (gingham, check, stripes, whatever) on the curtains. The current plain cream curtains are very blah and it needs another toning pattern. Then lots of toning colours in the cushions and rug and lamp shade to pull it all together.

Make sure you use a small gingham since your floral is larger. This will be the key to successfully matching the two.
