Help to find a rug like this for quarter of the price

I made the mistake of going to Oka yesterday and really like this rug. But it is way over our budget. We are looking for something that goes with the reds and greens of the room to go under a small round dining table.

Edwardian house. Walls are in calke green. Sofa in adjoining sitting room (arch through to) is a rusty red. Floors are a dark walnut. Furniture is mahogany (including grandfather clock, corner cupboard etc).

Any tips on where to find something similar? Looked at ruggable but can’t see anything I like as much. Also happy to have suggestions for other styles as am totally stuck. Should we just go neutral?

I have this. I love it. 2 dogs and I am a tad clumsy. We have spilled wine on it etc and it’s lifted up. Man made fibre of course and it’s flat, but very forgiving.

Other rugs are available, but Rugs Direct were very quick with delivery.

Funnily enough we have the exact same rug but bought it from John Lewis many years ago. Not very helpful, sorry, but just shows you’ve got great taste. 💐

I've bought from them 3 times, and the last time - when I was spending peanuts on a small rug for a spare bedroom but I wanted it urgently - their customer service was fabulous.

Have a look on Etsy. We bought our rug from this store via Etsy and are very happy with it, but there are lots of similar sellers.

Cost is more like half of the OKA ones than 1/4, but they are real hand knotted wool so same quality as OKA rather than polyester/polyproplene. With a bit of hunting you may get lucky and find a reduced one for closer to 1/4 the Oka cost.

Have you looked at Dunelm? They have some beautiful rugs at the moment.

I have found some great rugs over the years in TK Maxx, that are in a similar style. Thing is, you don't know what they've got till you go in and look.

here is one from Etsy that is a similar feel and here is another. Price for the same size as the OKA one is about £700

I also came onto day Dunelm. They had loads on display when we looked recently and we came away with the perfect one for under £100, expecting to pay more. They sell anti slip layers separately but not too dear. Definitely worth looking and as they're hanging up they don't arrive creased if you buy from store 😀

Dunelm Antalya - it comes in 4 colourways , is remarkably cheap and feels and looks a lot more expensive . We’ve just bought a very large one of our lounges and it’s beautiful .

Dunelm & TK max have both had some lovely rugs in lately. Most of them hanging so you can see them properly. They felt really nice too
