What to do with 9ft high bedroom alcoves but widths of just 77cm and 64cm?!

Would love any bright ideas - we got ladder shelves in them as a temporary solution but they are dwarfed by the height of the alcoves!

Extra wardrobe space? Could do a couple of heights of hanging rail and then shelves up top for the less used things?

Built in shelves up to picture rail height?

Depends how deep they are. I have similar dimension alcoves either side of a sitting room fireplace, but they are only about 15cm deep - just about enough for books.

They are 38cm deep.. . such a peculiar design choice!
