Heyy,

We are thinking of buying a blue Hampshire sofa and foot stool from dusk.com https://dusk.com/products/hampshire-3-seater-sofa-blue. It is soo much cheaper compared to M&S etc.

Anyone has experience buying from dusk.com? How about this specific Hampshire sofa? Did you find it comfortable? Did it look nice in person? You think it’s worth buying or better to spend more and get something long lasting?

What happened to this threat? I thought you had several replies, seversl negstive. I'm writing this lying on this very sofa, and I love it! It's cheap hollow fibre, so it will sagg over time, and you can't turn the back cudions over, but it makes it super squishy and comfy . My favourite sofa of all time has been a pure duck feather one. Not many people like that anymore, because you can see ehere you sat and it needs fluffing up everytime, and so now I can only find foam wrapped in a few duck feathers. My husband hates fixed backs and pretty much most sofas, and never has time or desire to travel across the country to visit showrooms, so I bought this on the assumption that if it's uncomfortable and goes saggy, we can replace it at some point, but better than no sofa at all, or to make a very expensive mistake. But it's really lovely, so I now intend to keep it for a long time, but it will need puffing up after every use to keep it look decent, as all hollow fibre sofas (or duck feather) do. The velvet has the same colour as in the advertisement.

My not so nice feet on the cheap but comfy DUSK sofa.

Heyy @NellyBarney , thanks for comment! Thread has been a bit dead. This is helpful. I wish they had some showrooms where I could test it out and see colours. But I am thinking I will at least get the footstool from them and see if I like the fabric and cushions.

Recently bought from Dusk

I am (mostly) very happy with the quality.
My mum purchased at same time too - lovely bed - colour much stronger than expected though

My issue has been abysmal after-care / customer service. I was moving house so had no other bed to sleep on, and it took over a month to resolve.

My bed has slanted legs so you need '2 lefts' and '2 rights'. They originally sent 4 of the same side. I got in touch, was assured a complete set of legs would be sent out immediately as it was impossible to really know if I'd got 4 lefts or 4 rights.

Nothing happened for a week so I got in touch again. They said they were out of stock but would put in a fresh order. The next day out of the blue, I got a delivery of 4 SIDES of the bed - these are like 7 foot long parcels. My house is tiny, I didn't want to haul them upstairs just to bring them down again, so they were in my kitchen where I either couldn't open the toilet door or couldn't open the bottom cupboards.

Another two weeks later, still nothing in terms of the correct legs getting delivered or these sides getting collected. I got in touch again, they suggested I dispose of them myself but they do not fit in my car and cannot obviously go in household waste so I was unable to do that and insisted on collection. Three times they said their delivery people would be in touch within 48 hours but they didn't actually follow through the order.

Eventually THREE legs arrive in the post in a grey plastic bag. They're wood painted black with metal for the screw bits. No packaging - not even the bag itself has any. They're scratched and dented to buggery, which because it's just black paint on pale wood, looks awful. But by luck, within this 3 they'd send 2 of the type I needed so I could make the bed up, which I've done. (they would well have only sent 1 of the right side... if it was 3...). I told them I'd move the sides out the front for collection and bugger it if they got wet because they'd had ages, I

Another two weeks, eventually the sides get collected. The collecting company was only expecting one parcel. I basically forced them to take them all, by this point I was much more assertive than I usually am!

And hilariously, another week later, ANOTHER set of legs arrive out the blue. Four this time, but still no packaging and still scratched etc.

So ... in summary, they got it wrong at every. single. stage.
My bed has rubbish legs that look awful, but tbh you don't really see it unless you know to look.
But I do like the bed.

I've recently bought quite a lot from Dusk (not a sofa though) and, whereas I like the products, I've got to agree with @DawnThoughts about customer service.

They are really slow to reply to emails (and it's next to impossible to ring), and 3 times I had a bed delivered to my old address, despite having given my new address. They did waive one delivery fee out of the three though so that's something I suppose :/

Misleading delivery timescales and extremely disappointing customer service.

The option of next day delivery is a scam. They do not fulfil it despite charging the customer for it.
When contacting customer services to enquire about my purchases, they were unable to tell me when I would receive them.
If the parcel is missing in transit or the courier returns it because the package is damaged during transport (as it happened with my most recent experience last week), you are left without your purchases and without your money, for an unlimited period of time. Their argument is that they need to wait until they receive the parcel back - which you never received- in order to process your refund. Unacceptable retail behaviour and possibly against trading standards.

I was going to post about Dusk as I like the look of many of their products. Perhaps too good to be true after all? Their website reminds me a lot of Furniture 123's. 😉

I have bought the Hampshire range from Dusk, large sofa, and loveseat in Beige.
They are beautiful to look at, and quite well made, firm, but springy. The only down side for me is the backs of the cushions have a black backing material, it would have been much better to have had then covered in the beige fabric, so they could have been reversed to prolong the shape and ware. But for the price, which is half of the cost for the same style sofa from M&S and Next. It's value for money, and you can pay 12 mths interest free.
I'm very pleased.

Von61 · 15/01/2025 18:41

Do the bottom cushions on the Hampshire also just material on one side only, may I ask please

I recently placed an order for these sofas, due end of the month! Price was v good as we were looking for temporary sofas.
