Dark green bedroom - help to plan.

Hi everyone,

I'm finally getting to 'do up' my spare bedroom. I am hoping for a cosy, luxurious room. The room is 16 x 12, with two alcoves either side of a 4 foot chimney breast, dual aspect, windows either end. I have finally chosen the wallpaper (hopefully attached!) and plan to paint the chimney breast green, a dark rich green. I have a black cast iron fire surround (also attached) too which will remain on the chimney breast wall.
One alcove will house my big desk and the other I'm hoping to have a green wingback chair, a sort of reading nook with lamp above. (Or maybe a gold/yellow chair?)
I will buy a divan with drawers that I'm planning to have opposite the chimney breast. I have very tall Ikea wardrobes that will be to the right of the bed on the same wall.
My dilemma is what colour to paint the other three walls and what colour carpet/curtains to choose. Any suggestions? Alternatives to what I've planned already?

@JustPaintedMyRoomGreen - that looks lovely!

We've used colour drenching in a few rooms too - I first discovered the idea when we bought this house in 2018 and painted our bedroom walls, ceiling and woodwork in F&B Oval Room Blue (since changed as we swapped our room to the back one and we now have Abigail Edwards Briar Owl wallpaper in the front).

The colour drenching looked fab imho, so we used the same idea in our already dark hallway (F&B Inchyra Blue on walls, ceiling and woodwork - see attached pics) as well as our bathroom (F&B Setting Plaster). We're currently in the process of colour drenching a couple more spaces too.

I love the Borastapeter wallpaper! They do some gorgeous patterns, but whilst I'm not averse to a feature wall (we have William Morris Strawberry Thief on our landing with the Inchyra Blue), I'd either use it on the whole room or on the chimney breast and recesses as I'm in agreement with @AppropriateAdult that it will look 'choppy' to have three different wall coverings/colours. I'd also prefer picking out the background colour of the wallpaper if doing a feature wall.

I would match to the green of the leaves. I have a soft green bedroom and it is really serene.

Thanks everyone, this is all helping me 😊

I've concluded (that sounds decisive right?! 😂) that I'm using the paper just in the recesses. I will then paint the other three walls and the chimney breast in the same colour. I'm looking at picking out either the dark green, perhaps Dulux Everglade Forest or the teal y blue colour of the leaves. Woodwork will be left white as will the ceiling.

Thankfully, despite me having a big old desk that's remaining for now, I don't need to wfh for very long periods of time. This bedroom is mainly used by me when I have to be awake early for work and have been disturbed by snoring. No need for light for make up either so that's a bit less I need to worry about at least.

Everyones photo's are lovely! I really hope all the green looks ok and not too dark. I think it will, it's quite a light room with the two windows.
