Wickes kitchen

Can anyone enlighten me as to how rewards work for kitchen planners at Wickes?
We saw one a couple of days ago to get a kitchen in their ‘sale’.
She was friendly and charming on the surface but I felt she put us under a lot of pressure in several ways.
Firstly she said we needed to decide ‘that day’ to get the discounts she had applied. Now that we haven’t, the date has magically changed to the end of this week.
She said the agreement needed to be made in store and we couldn’t put our order in over the phone. Is that normal? We don’t want a finance agreement or to end up paying interest.
She also said that in order to get certain discounts we needed to put down a non-refundable deposit of 20 per cent. Surely there is always a cooling off period?
She also mentioned the kitchen needed to come in at 12 k to get discounts. So obviously our budget wasn’t of much interest to her!

We liked the kitchen but I’d love to know how the commission for planners works?

Hi we were in the process of buying a kitchen from Wicked and felt really pressured and were deliberating buying but decided just recently that this is not the company for us.

Who are you going with @Bunsandtophats ?

Had a Wickes kitchen 3 years ago. No pressure and the whole process was very smooth.

No idea how the rewards work. But I got a bathroom from wickes and really, really regret it. The sales guy just wanted to sell it and didn’t really address my concerns and they’ve ended up being extremely valid. Eg there was meant to be a bog roll holder on the wall but for some reason it couldn’t end up being installed and now we have to move a freestanding one around constantly - if we want to open a cuoboard etc. The shower screen seal is badly discoloured after 18 months. Dreadful - never again.

Deeply regret our Wickes bathroom, we were very naive thinking that using a national company meant getting a decent job. £8000 spent on shoddy work, poor quality products and unbelievably poor customer service. They left site over a year ago, it's still not resolved and looks like it never will be to our detriment. Still paying out money to other contractors to put things right.

i have found Homebase kitchens pretty good quality. We have had two installed in the last couple of years. The prices have increased, but this is across the board for all diy materials. Never put pressure on to order, always given good options, quick delivery date, never had a damaged item.
