IKEA Kronill curtain tape and Riktig curtain hooks. How do I gather them at the top?

I got some pre-made curtains and hooks (see photos) and I can put the hooks in to create pin tucks. But how do I adjust them to make the curtain wider so both sides meet for privacy? In the photo of the tape they’ve done it, but in the photo of the hooks they’ve not gathered them at all.

I know the answer is ‘make the pin tucks smaller’ but how? Is it just trial and error to get the correct size AND still have even pin tucks?

I’m stuck, how do I work it out?

Or shall I just unpick that tape and replace it with the ‘normal’ tape with three strings to pull and tie?

Forgot the photos.

This one is the finished product from the back.

And this is the hooks where they’ve not made any attempt at pin ticks at all.

If you search YouTube for IKEA pinch pleat curtains there are loads of videos

Thanks @Handsnotwands but I should have added I’ve looked at some but they don’t address this issue, it’s just how to put the clips in, which I know.

For example, there’s a video showing you how to put the silver hooks in inbetween the curtain tape vertical threads and create pin tucks. I have nine gaps in my tape and I can do it beautifully like she did. But I have 14 curtain rail hooks.

They are both getting good reviews so I must be missing something. Do I just reduce the curtain rail hooks? That involves getting a screwdriver out and dismantling the curtain rail. Is that what everyone does?
