Garden set bought last week now reduced by £500!

We have been deliberating over a garden dining set for weeks and finally took the plunge and bought a smart one from Maze last week (still not delivered) for the “sale”
price of £2399. Just looked at the site today and it’s reduced to £1918! Do we have any chance of getting this difference refunded? I checked the return policy and we can obviously return it when it arrives but we have to pay for return delivery which will certainly be a couple hundred pounds (plus what a waste of resource to do this). Anyone have any experience with this company and their customer service? Have we got any chance?

Oh no ☹️ Has it been shipped out yet? I'd contact them cancelling the order if possible.

Yes! Contact customer service and explain- they should refund you money. If not- cancel /return the order and then order it on sale.

Annoyingly this newest “sale” ends tomorrow and customer service won’t come back online until Tuesday. I don’t dare order another set at the cheaper price as I have no idea what it would cost to return the first (and it’s at my cost to do so). Hopefully they will be understanding on Tuesday!!

Just an update to say that we got an email reply from Maze today and they are refunding us the difference! So pleased and now extra happy with what a deal we got!!

With the greatest of respect, I'm amazed they did that! I think I'd have been very annoyed but would have just sucked it up - they can't be expected to do that for everyone that's bought items that then get cheaper at some point later, surely?! Are you thinking maybe it's different because it hasn't been delivered yet so not fully bought, as it were?

I think a lot of places would. Personally if they hadn't I'd of declined delivery and it would of been returned to sender.

Of course they didn’t have to nor did I think it was my “right” to get the reduction. But it was within my consumer rights to return it. However as I would have had to pay for the return delivery I probably would have only recouped about half the difference and it wouldn’t have been worth all the faff. I did investigate the “refuse delivery” thing and apparently that’s not really an option in the UK as a legal method to cancel a contract unless the goods are visibly damaged (I think it may be in the US).
Overall I was looking for advice on any previous experience with Maze customer service (and to vent my frustration about missing out on £500!). But thankfully they proved themselves to be excellent in that regard. Now I just hope the set is as nice as it looks online!!

As it hadn't been shipped yet, I think it is fair enough
