I know it's that sludgy, muddy, dull time of the year but I need to do something to improve the front of the house. We currently have a sort of sage green which is looking a bit tired. There is also a store cupboard right next to the front door which we should paint the same colour too.

I like the idea of pink to lift the look of the house, but I'm also wary that it make clash with the orangey bricks. I also like the idea of heritage F&B looking colours.

Does anyone have any colour tips? I'm probably going to repaint the front picket fence urban slate (dark grey) and leave the side fence wood.

The colours I'm toying with are:

Bouquet
Petal (lavender colour)
Sweet grape (light purple)
Lulworth blue/ Parma grey
Nancy's blushes or Cinder rose (pink)

I will be forever grateful as I've been putting this off for 2 years due to indecision!

We have a mushroom coloured front door (similar to SULKING ROOM) on your sheet. I've lost count of the number of people who've asked/knocked on the door and asked - what colour is this? It's beautiful. And the house is white so lovely match.

Sorry just noticed your house is brick/brown so probably wouldn't work for you

Whichever colour you go for, I would paint the front door a pale colour, and paint the picket fence and the door to the side store a darker shade of the front door colour. That way you have variety and interest, but not a jumble of colours.

Eg front door Petal, fence and side door Sweet Grape.

I love the brinjal colour. Would also go with the picket fence as is. it’s a strong colour but not too bright. Tones well with the brown. Brass fittings also suit brown brick. V smart

Yellow is good too.
